30 George Mcginnis 1950-2023 Thank You For The Memories Signature T-Shirt
He honed his skills on the playgrounds of his neighborhood and quickly became a standout player at Washington High School. It was here that he honed his signature move, the “George McGinnis spin,” which would become one of his trademarks on the court. After leading his high school to two state championships, McGinnis went on to play college basketball at Indiana University. In just two years, he became one of the best players in the nation, averaging 29.9 points per game and earning the title of Big Ten Player of the Year. However, McGinnis was eager to take his talents to the next level and set his sights on the professional leagues. In 1971, McGinnis was drafted by the Indiana Pacers in the American Basketball Association (ABA) and immediately made an impact.
His powerful playing style, smooth shot, and impressive rebounding abilities made him a force to be reckoned with on the court.

His presence on the court, along with fellow superstar Julius Erving, helped bring the 76ers to the NBA Finals in his first season. With his versatility and dominance on both ends of the floor, McGinnis was a key player in the 76ers’ run to the 1980 NBA championship.
Throughout his 13-year career, McGinnis was a six-time All-Star, a three-time All-ABA Team selection, and two-time All-NBA Team selection. He was also inducted into the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame in 2007 and the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2020.
